Take Steps to Grow Your Team: Recruit!
One of the most essential aspects of your business is GROWTH! We accomplish this in two main ways:
- expanding your customer base
- expanding your team
Let's talk about the particulars of building a team to grow your business!
The first thing you need to think about is your business. What is it doing for you? Why do you continue to do it?
...
Freedom, income, friends, independence, "me-time", to name a few, are all benefits of this business.
Next it's important to understand the importance of recruiting. Why should I be trying? Why is it worth it?
- By sharing the career opportunity, you are helping others to grow. And, you are truly enriching lives – the new recruits – and yours.
- Like everything else, if you don’t have goals, you will not be able to see and relish achievement. Keep score of your goals and accomplishments. Know how you are doing.
- Working alone, your personal sales are limited to the amount of time you can invest. Adding recruits multiplies your income many, many times and gives you ongoing income.
- Recruiting is a joy, not a responsibility. You do your work, a recruit observes you doing it and thereby a new recruit is trained.
- Not to recruit is selfish. It is denying an opportunity to others who may NEED it and who are entitled to know about it. And, it’s limiting your own potential for both income and growth.

- It's a process that you need to follow with them. Start by introducing the idea, continue on to develop that idea by giving relevant information, and follow up with them by using direct questions. This can take even months sometimes. Everybody and their process is different.
- Recruiting shouldn’t be done part time. If you are enthusiastic about what you do – you are always "recruiting" – wherever you are.
- There is one key thing to remember about recruiting. It’s a simple rule that applies to many aspects of our lives – “When in doubt, reach out!”

- Instead of pressuring yourself and thinking, "I need to recruit!" think about why you love what you do, the benefits you are receiving from it, and that you WANT to share that positivity with others! The WORST that can happen is that they say "no thanks!" And that's FINE! Live dangerously!
Objections are part of offering something to someone. Oftentimes, if someone is offering a REASON why they CAN'T they are actually asking for additional information on HOW they CAN! Even if someone says "no" it may not be no- forever, just no- not right now.
...
What do you say to people when you reach out to them or (even better) when they reach out to you and would like more information about the business? I find it best when recruiting to LISTEN 80% and SHARE 30%. Oftentimes you'll hear cues in the conversation that will lead you on what information to give them i.e. "I love ALL the books!" or "I want them ALL!" or "It seems like you have a fun time doing these parties!" plus many more.
1- Ask them what it is about the business that interests them
2- Tell them why YOU joined and what you have appreciated about your business
3- Give them your FAQs page (found under Join on your ecommerce page)
4- Ask them if they have any questions you can help them with right now

5- Use the Peek Inside events when they are available but NOT as your sole recruiting tool
How do you seal the deal?
This is the part that is partially out of your control. One thing to remember is that this is an EXTREMELY personal and BIG decision for a person to make, and that often takes time. Just keep checking in with them, make yourself available to answer their questions, and ask them directly if they've given any more thought to joining.
